Hilborn Charity eNews<\/em>\u00a0together with partner\u00a0CCEOC Inc<\/em>. congratulate the recipients of the tenth annual Canadian Nonprofit Employer of Choice\u2122 (NEOC) Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, 16 organizations fulfilled program requirements to be named a Canadian Nonprofit Employer of Choice. Five of them achieved a\u00a0five-year or more<\/em>\u00a0winner status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 award recipients are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Canadian Mental Health Association \u2013 Peel Dufferin (ON) 5+ year Winner<\/em>
\u2022 Connective Support Society \u2013 Kamloops (BC)
\u2022 Edmonton Humane Society (AB)
\u2022 Equiterre (QC)
\u2022 Inclusion Chilliwack Society (BC) 5+ year Winner<\/em>
\u2022 Lakeland Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Society (AB)
\u2022 Louis Brier Home and Hospital (BC) 5+ year Winner<\/em>
\u2022 Reach Out Centre for Kids (ON)
\u2022 Richmond Hospital Foundation (BC) 5+ year Winner<\/em>
\u2022 SHIP (Services and Housing In the Province) (ON)
\u2022 UNICEF Canada (ON) 5+ year Winner<\/em>
\u2022 University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (ON)
\u2022 Ve\u2019ahavta (ON)
\u2022 Your Support Services Network (formerly York Support) (ON)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All winners successfully completed the NEOC Organizational Profile and Employee Commitment Survey achieving a minimum overall score of 75% to qualify for the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thought leaders are debunking the myth that employees in the nonprofit sector are willing (and should be expected) to work in exchange for the opportunity to \u201cdo good.\u201d Attracting and retaining talent requires: superior HR management; strong organizational cultures; clarity around job expectations; and relevant training and career development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEOC is a tool that measures a nonprofit’s leadership attributes, HR practices and employee opinions by providing a framework to evaluate an organization’s talent management issues and start constructing a corrective plan of action. This program further enables the board and senior staff to probe and analyze the issues and start the transformational change needed to achieve the impact the donor rightly expects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to announce the winners of the 2024 Nonprofit Employer of Choice\u2122 award.\u201d said Jeff Doran<\/strong>, president of CCEOC Inc. \u201cThese organizations continue to place their employees as their number one priority. They took the time to assess their operations and recognize their employees for all their hard work and sacrifice. My hat is off to all of these amazing nonprofits!\u201d Doran says, \u201cAll winning nonprofits showed strong leadership qualities, particularly in the areas of building trust and respect, caring and compassion, and employee engagement. These organizations can now promote their employer of choice brand and put together sustainable action plans to help make their organizations even better places to work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications to participate in the 2025 NEOC Award program<\/a> will be accepted starting March 1, 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
