There are notable events happening in Newmarket this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s what\u2019s taking place:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hockey Helps the Homeless<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Dec. 12 at 11:45 a.m., Hockey Helps the Homeless in support of 360\u00b0kids and Blue Door hits the ice at the Magna Centre at 800 Mulock Dr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to its website, Hockey Helps the Homeless is focused on helping to ensure every Canadian has a safe place to call home and access to the supports they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizations hosts pro-am hockey tournaments across Canada, where players raise funds to make a direct impact in their own community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, Hockey Helps the Homeless has granted more than $33 million to organizations fighting homelessness, including more than $2.3 million in York Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
