Honouring the organizations and volunteers who strengthen Newmarket\u2013Aurora every day<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEWMARKET <\/strong>\u2013 MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy welcomed more than 40 local non-profit organisations<\/strong> to her 3rd Annual Non-Profit Appreciation Event<\/strong>, held this week in celebration of Ontario\u2019s Non-Profit Appreciation Week<\/strong>. After briefly pausing the event during last year\u2019s provincial election, she was thrilled to bring it back and recognise the remarkable individuals who uplift Newmarket\u2013Aurora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s event brought together an inspiring range of organisations\u2014from cultural associations and youth services to mental health supports, senior programmes, arts groups, and community aid providers. Among those in attendance were groups such as the Toronto Cultural Mingle Association<\/strong>, Hindu Sanatan Kendra of York Simcoe Region<\/strong>, Newmarket Soccer Club<\/strong>, CHATS<\/strong>, AFRY<\/strong>, Communaut\u00e9 du Trille Blanc<\/strong>, Blue Door<\/strong>, Abuse Hurts<\/strong>, CMHA York Region & South Simcoe<\/strong>, The Salvation Army<\/strong>, Aurora Legion, York Pride<\/strong>, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MPP Gallagher Murphy recognised their daily contributions\u2014often unseen but always deeply felt\u2014highlighting how these organisations nourish the spirit of the community and support people at every stage of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also emphasised the scale and impact of the non-profit sector in Ontario. \u201cThis week, we celebrate Ontario\u2019s nearly 850,000 nonprofit workers,\u201d<\/em> she noted. \u201cWith 58,000 organisations contributing $65 billion to our economy, nonprofits keep our communities healthy, vibrant, and inclusive.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the celebration, each attending organisation received a recognition scroll, presented in gratitude for their service and dedication.

MPP Gallagher Murphy also extended thanks to the individuals who helped make the event possible, including her constituency team and community partners, as well as Glenn Marais<\/strong> for providing outstanding musical entertainment and The Lounge by the George<\/strong> for hosting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The afternoon closed with a message of appreciation:
